WHAT TO DO?

This is an emergency!
It's time to work together and force a change.
GMO Research
Genetically Modified Organisms are common in all the industries that we know about that. Most common in our food, personal care products, and animal feed. Maybe you've heard of corn with bacterial genes that can produce insecticide on their own. Or maybe you have heard of fast growing Atlantic Salmon (which is a combination of Chinook Salmon + Ocean Pout). But why is this bad?
So What?
I joined forces with the awesome Chaewon Kang to create a moving piece that will instigate change.

CONCEPTS
Behind the Scenes
Know your food. The impact of GMOs goes beyond your plate—it's reshaping our environment. Choose wisely.
In a grocery store we pick the juiciest, brightest, and biggest apple—perfect on the outside. But beneath its flawless surface lies a different story. What you’re holding isn’t the product of nature but of genetic manipulation.
02
Imperfection
Embrace imperfection.
Our world thrives on its imperfections, creating the delicate balance that sustains life. But as we alter nature through our innovations and modifications, the harmony unravels--cascading into stark desolation.
03
Desolation
Learn the truth about the GMOs. They harm not only you but your future.
Perfection is the illusion we chase. Beneath it, our living world is strangled, crushed, and dissected—pushed toward a breaking point that threatens our very survival.
DEVELOPMENT
Best of Both Worlds
Combining both Chaewon's strengths and mine, we brought together 2D painting and 3D into one. Coming up with the compositions was probably one of my favorite parts of this project. Repeating a lot of dutch angle shots and dimensions landscape shots, we aimed to show disturbing beauty.
Our colors progress from the vibrant green and blue to the sickly yellow, aggressive red, and the dull bleak grey at the end. From life to desolation and destruction.
Our design style reflects not just the Western 3D world but parts of the East Asian works. This hybrid design style would appeal to a wider audience, hence spreading out message even further.
